SQUARESPACE WEBSITE DESIGN
FOR CONTEMPLATIVE RETREAT GUIDE & CENTERING PRAYER TEACHER

When Liz came to me, she didn't have a website at all.

She'd spent decades on a contemplative path — guiding Centering Prayer, leading silent retreats, walking the edge between tradition and something newer and more inclusive. Her work had never had an online home, and now she was ready to build one from the ground up.

We spent time exploring deep space and time as a visual language for her work: the vastness of the night sky as a mirror for the inner depth she guides people toward. The color palette grew out of that: tones that could hold both stillness and richness. We layered in hand-drawn elements throughout, so the site would feel organic and personal rather than polished and corporate.

Our Collaborative Process

We started with her message.

We sat with what Liz was really offering underneath the retreats and gatherings: a way home to depth, silence, and belonging. Everything else, including the visuals, followed from there.

Space and stillness, translated into design

The night-sky imagery and hand-drawn icons weren't decoration. They were a way of letting the design itself hold the same depth as her work.

A home for her work online.

For the first time, Liz has a home for her work online. Simple, uncluttered, and true to who she is.

She is able to update her website on her own too!

I loved working with Shelagh. She had great ideas and a wonderful process to help me crystallize my message. Shelagh is a champion of women who are ready to cross the threshold into giving their gifts and being bravely authentic. I highly recommend her.
