REST CIRCLES
MOON PAUSE
The Moon has a rhythm of waxing and waning - of being radiant and dark. And you have a rhythm too.
In our full and busy lives, the Full Moon and New Moon offer us two moments of pause - inviting us to reconnect, take a 'honeymoon' with ourselves, and realign with with the natural rhythms of the Earth and our own bodies.
In these gatherings, you'll find space to rest, reflect, and realign with your inner rhythm. Each circle includes a brief rest practice, an aromatic anointing ritual, a 35-minute yoga nidra for deep rest, quiet journaling, and a supportive community of women.
Step into the rhythm of rest. Come as you are, and leave nourished and connected to the natural rhythms within and around you.

I have found the rest circles to be a wonderful way to nourish myself. Life (and my mind) is busy. The guided yoga nidra is a real gift. Shelagh’s voice and guidance is very calming. It is lovely to listen to the recording as often as possible for the month following the live event. That is one of the added benefits of signing up for the new moon and/or full moon events. They help my nervous system immensely.

Hi, I’m Shelagh, a Certified Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra Facilitator and Teacher-Trainer.
My Journey to Rest
My life took an unexpected turn in November 2018. I got the phone call that so many of us dread - your mammogram is irregular, come back for more tests.
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Wait, what? Me?
Over the course of a year-long healing journey, I discovered and learned so much about healing, about compassion, about devotion, and about resiliency. The journey was deep, personal, and intense. To say the least.
At the core of the journey was the experience of rest. What I learned is that rest is radical, particularly in our always-on culture.
My profound experience of rest as medicine inspired me to pursue Daring to Rest yoga nidra teacher training and weave this restorative practice with rituals of self-care attuned to the rhythms of the seasons, the moon, and our own inner gardens.
Paradigm shift…when you realize that rest isn't about being more productive. Rest is a radical response to an over-productive world.
Doing nothing - aka resting - is radical.
One of my favourite ways to rest is through yoga nidra - a gentle, ancient meditation practice that guides you from your busy outer world to a deep state of resting awareness.
It feels like healing nectar for your entire being.
Practicing yoga nidra regularly:
soothes and balances the nervous system
relieves tension and stress
shifts brain waves into a nourishing state of regeneration
restores peace and rejuvenation to the whole body
awakens creativity & increases clarity
brings you back home to your wisdom, insight, intuition
The beautiful thing about yoga nidra is that there is nothing “to do” but simply rest.
I am a Certified Daring to Rest facilitator and teacher trainer. I mentor women from all over the world in the Daring to Rest method.
